About the Artist

Ann Smith, a native of Atlanta, GA,  began her art studies at Bennett College, Millbrook, NY, where she completed her undergraduate degree.

After a successful career in sales and marketing Ann once again returned to her painting.

Although she began her studies in a very traditional discipline, she quickly moved to a more comtemporary and impressionistic approach to her painting.  Over the years numerous trips to Provence and Tuscany have further defined the soft palette which is a hallmark of her work.

Ann's work has been shown at the Trinity School Salute to Southern Artists, Atlanta, the Atlanta Childkind Show, The Atlanta Opera Antiques and Art Show, The Colors of Summer, Highlands, NC, The Cashiers Decorators Show House, Cashiers, N.C. and hangs in collections throughout the U.S  and abroad.

Ann is currently represented by The Ann Jacob Gallery, Highlands, N.C., The Art House, Atlanta,GA, Cottage Garden Gallery, Batesville, GA, Hawthorne House Interiors, Athens, GA,  and Timpson Creek Gallery, Clayton, GA.

Ann and her husband John live with their menagerie of animals in Rabun County in the mountains of North Georgia.
